Open models. A considered starting point.

Your computer.
Your models.
Your first step.

Understand your Windows computer before you download an AI model. Start with two free guides built for following along, one clear action at a time.

No email signup. No model installation. No paid tool required.

FIELD NOTE / 001WINDOWS EDITION

Before the model,
know the machine.

01
RAM

Working memory for apps and model data.

02
Storage

Where downloaded files and saved work live.

03
Dedicated GPU memory

A separate observation. Not extra system RAM.

Concept illustration. Bar lengths are decorative, not capacity readings.

Read at your pace. Numbered steps you can return to.

Check the result. Know what you should see.

Recover calmly. A next step when yours looks different.

Two guides. One useful foundation.

Start here, before
you install anything.

Read in your browser or keep a three-page PDF beside your Windows work. Both guides are complete and free.

01 / The readiness guide

Know your computer before choosing a model.

Find your RAM, free storage, system type and graphics devices. Keep the unknowns visible and learn why a download size is not a memory requirement.

3 pages · Hardware observation, not a compatibility approval.

02 / The sample lesson

Save a hardware note you can find again.

Practice the basics in File Explorer and Notepad: create a learning folder, record a few values, save the note and prove you can reopen it.

3 pages · Six steps · No AI setup required.

What “open” actually means

Ask better questions.
Choose with context.

AI Unchained is about understanding the tools you run. A model’s openness, location and behavior are different things to check.

Open weights ≠ open source.

Downloadable model weights do not, by themselves, establish an open-source license. Read the model card and license for the permissions, restrictions and materials actually provided.

Local needs a real check.

Running a model on your computer does not prove every connected tool stays offline. Check the runtime, optional services and where your data goes.

Fewer refusals ≠ better answers.

Models described as uncensored or less restricted can still invent facts and fail simple instructions. Evaluate their behavior, keep sensitive data out of experiments, and verify useful results.

Windows course · Enrollment open

A course designed to sit beside your work.

AI Unchained teaches access to Hugging Face models through Odysseus and Ollama on Windows. The emphasis is on numbered text instructions, visual references and observable checks, so you can switch between the lesson and your own machine.

The free sample lets you try that method before you decide to enroll.

29Windows-path lessons
17visual references
8PDF downloads

The 17 visuals include reference cards; they are not all application screenshots. These counts describe the prepared course, not the free preview.

What has been tested: a native Odysseus setup and local chat on one existing high-memory Windows desktop, using isolated CPU-only Ollama, existing model files and disabled optional services.

What remains unverified: a fresh Windows installation, low-memory operation, your graphics card and Mac setup. Small test models also invented details and missed instructions. Hardware planning targets are not support guarantees.

The founding rate is for the first 20 founding subscriptions ever issued. Keep this rate while continuously subscribed. Canceled places are not recycled.

Enroll on Whop

Opens Whop in a new tab. Whop handles your account and payment. Nothing entered in the hardware-note helper is sent to Whop.

A clear refund window.

Request a full refund of your initial membership charge within 7 calendar days of purchase. There is no usage or completion condition.

Renewals are outside this voluntary offer; applicable rights and Whop or payment-provider remedies remain unchanged. If approved, we issue the refund and separately cancel future billing and end paid access.

A small tool for your next step

Make a private starting note.

Use observations from the readiness guide. Leave anything you have not checked blank or “Unknown.” This helper organizes a few technical values; it does not inspect your computer or decide compatibility.

Inputs stay in this page’s memory. They are not sent anywhere or saved by this site. Copy or download only when you want to keep a note. Reloading clears these fields. Do not enter personal identifiers.

For exact processor, GPU and driver names, use your own private Notepad file as shown in the sample. This helper deliberately has no free-text fields.

Do not combine devices or include shared memory.
